Butts County is located in the Heart of Georgia. I-75 runs through the western edge of the county,
located 45 miles south of Atlanta and 45 miles north of Macon.
There are two major interchanges at Highways 16 and 36. Butts County is only 40 minutes from Jackson-Hartsfield Airport near Atlanta.
Butts County has three Incorporated Cities: Jackson, (county seat), Jenkinsburg, and Flovilla. We have the oldest Georgia Power impoundment in the state of Georgia- 4400
acres of clean water and recreation at Lake Jackson-built in the early 1900's. Additionally, Indian Springs State Park, located in Flovilla, is one of the oldest state parks in the United States.
