The Butts County Industrial Development Authority meets monthly, generally on the second Friday of each month at 8:30 a.m. at the Butts County Administration Building. The public is welcome to attend Development Authority meetings.
The Development Authority was created through a local amendment to the Georgia Constitution and consists of a seven-member volunteer board, appointed by the Butts County Commission. In addition, a seven-member board, the Development Authority of Butts County, was created by legislation. These two boards work together to support and enhance economic development in Butts County. In partnership with local, regional, state and national organizations, the Development Authority works to encourage and promote economic development activity in Butts County, whether through the location of a new company or through the expansion of an existing facility.
